We strive to make humble food beautiful and delicious,

whilst paying respect to native Australian ingredients. 

What We Do

Our strength is in specialty cob loaves, a size perfect for one, filled with an array of dips, stews and other hot and cold fillings. We also make open toasties; packs for two with a cob, meats, cheese and crackers; grilled fruit on a stick; chocolate mousse; and fairy floss products. All products feature native Australian ingredients and we can cater to gluten, nut and dairy free.

We can attend public events, festivals, corporate events, weddings and also provide catering.  Based in Naarm  (Melbourne), we thank you for supporting an Indigenous business. 

Our Journey

Ngata! Our founder is Lauren Doddo, a Gunditjmara woman who simply wanted to see more native Australian ingredients in the food truck scene.  For our first truck, we've used Bailey Mifsud's artwork. 

 

Connection to Country saw Lauren try to recreate bush bread (many times unsuccessfully). Ultimately it ended up being too expensive to recreate.  Her heart fell for the humble cob loaf, as they were inspired damper, which was inspired by bush bread. 

We think cob loaves have been absent from the Melbourne food truck scene for far too long and we hope you come and say hi (or Ngata) and try one.
